Teas
Simply Splendid Victorian Afternoon Teas is proud to purchase teas through the Ethical Tea Partnership program. Drinking tea is global pleasure, and behind each cup of tea is a bigger picture: growing and producing tea provide a livelihood for millions of people around the world. The Ethical Tea Partnership works to monitor living and working conditions on tea estates, with the aim of making sure that the tea you buy from the members of the Partnership has been produced in a socially responsible way.
Darjeeling tea, a light, golden tea from Northern India with a delicate muscatel flavour, is often referred to as the champagne of teas; Earl Grey is a classic afternoon tea blended with bergamot, a Mediterranean citrus fruit; English Breakfast is a full-bodied amber tea with a brisk flavour and Orange Pekoe is a refreshing, medium flavoured tea blended from Assam and Ceylon leaves and producing a satisfying cup of tea.
We also offer Behora Assam tea. Behora is considered to be one of the best tea estates in Assam because of its location in the Golaghar district where soil conditions give a wonderful malty, full bodied flavour to this premium black tea
Currently we recommend a very special blend: Baroness Grey. Baroness Grey is a blend of high-grown Ceylon black tea with cornflowers, lemon peels and rose petals, in addition to the traditional Earl Grey flavouring of oil of bergamot.
We also recommend Red Rooibos tea an herbal which comes from a South African bush, and whose leaves provide a sweet and flavourful tea. This tea is without caffeine.
